I was born and raised in San Jose, CA, the heart of the so-called Silicon Valley. As an art student at San Jose State University and the Academy of Art San Francisco, I quickly fell in love with guided and well–principled design. I’m fascinated with design history, devouring books by the likes of Bringhurst, Tschichold and Müller. I studied typography and came to appreciate the precision, exactitude, and elegant nuance of type. I’ve learned how to effectively use grid forms to create designs that are not only balanced, but also rhythmic and melodic. I’m obsessed with the techniques and procedures of my design heroes, and I’m determined to carry over those exact techniques to how I design today.
With about 15 years of professional experience, I’ve worked in almost every aspect of design. Early in my career, I started through the ranks as a junior pressman, preflighting and production artist. Eventually, I taught myself HTML, CSS, PHP, JQuery, SASS; and I’m still continuing to learn more and more to this day. With all this however, my true love is still in design in all its facets. Today, I work as a Freelance Visual Designer, User Interface, Experience Designer with a bit of Prototyping.

I’m always on the lookout for freelance projects and new clients! Most of the work I can take on requires some flexibility in timing, as I work throughout the month with several clients and projects concurrently, in multiple offices.
